Qredo basics

Roles and permissions

When the user accepts their invitation to a Workspace, the user becomes a Workspace member. As such, they can only view the Portfolios they are a member of, but can't interact in any way. Each member of a Workspace can be assigned one or more of the 5 available roles, which grant them various interaction options. In the table below, you can see more details regarding these 5 roles and their permissions.

Workspace Admin

The Workspace Admin is often its creator, but this role can also be assigned. They can set up Workspaces, invite new Workspace members, create Policies, view Workspace history, and manage Qredo Station. The Workspace Admin role in itself cannot manage Portfolios, Vaults, and Web3 Wallets, and initiate and approve transactions. This role typically fits CEO, COO, and director positions in organizations.

Portfolio Admin

The Portfolio Admin role manages Portfolios, Vaults, and Web3 Wallets. They can add Portfolio members, create Policies, view Portfolio history, and manage Qredo Station. The Portfolio Admin role in itself cannot manage Workspaces, initiate transactions, and approve transactions. This role typically fits ops manager and similar positions in organizations. A Workspace Admin needs to assign a Portfolio Admin to each Portfolio separately.

Approver

The Approver role can approve transaction and governance requests via the Qredo Signing App and view history. This role is a key part of the Qredo ecosystem. The Approver role in itself cannot manage Workspaces, Portfolios, Vaults, and Web3 Wallets. It also cannot initiate transactions and access the Qredo Station.

Trader

The Trader role initiates transactions, view history, and top up the Qredo Station. The Trader role in itself cannot manage Workspaces, Portfolios, Vaults, or Web3 Wallets, and cannot approve transactions.

Viewer

The Viewer role is a compliance role — it has view-only access across the Workspace and selected Portfolios. By default Viewers can access only the Workspace. A Portfolio or Workspace Admin has to grant a Viewer access for each Portfolio independently. The Viewer role in itself cannot manage Workspaces, Portfolios, Vaults, or Web3 Wallets, and cannot approve or initiate trades.
