Web3 Wallet → Celestia

This guide will assist you in the creation of your Celestia Web3 Wallet and using it for sending and staking TIA. Alternatively, you can see our video guide in the end of this article.

Create a Celestia Web3 Wallet

To create a Celestia Wallet, just create a Web3 Wallet and select Celestia as its type. Once it's done, you can start using your wallet.

If you can’t see Celestia as an option, please contact your Qredo representative or email [email protected].

Send

You can send assets from your Celestia Wallet to a Wallet/Vault within your Workspace or to an external address:

  1. Log in to your Qredo Profile, navigate to the upper-left corner of the screen, and select your Profile icon.

  2. Select a Workspace and open the Portfolio that your Celestia Wallet is located in.

  3. Navigate to the Celestia Wallet.

  4. Find the Actions section in the upper-right part of the screen. Click Send.

  5. Select the destination and set Amount to send. Specify other details if needed.

  6. Click Send and authorize the transaction in the Qredo Signing App.

Note: Due to fluctuations in gas prices, the Qredo pre-set gas fees might not be enough for a successful transaction. If you encounter this issue, you can click on Set Custom Fees in the Send window and update the fees. You can use this gas tracker for your reference: https://celestia.explorers.guru/transactions.

Stake and unstake

You can stake TIA from your Celestia Web3 Wallet and start earning rewards.

By staking, you delegate your assets to a Validator. Validators confirm transactions, propose blocks, and participate in governance of the blockchain. Your staking adds to their decision-making ability, or voting power.

The amount of rewards you earn is defined by the APY (Annual Percentage Yield) — the estimated percentage of the annual return on your staking tokens. Rates can vary. Note that the validator keeps a percentage of your rewards as a commission.

Stake

  1. First you need to whitelist the validator address — see Whitelist addresses.
    We currently offer one validator:

    • celestiavaloper1mhux0vt6qszz8qwv8axggt02jjm7tuvdfhz78j

  2. Navigate to your Celestia Wallet.

  3. Find the Actions section in the upper-right part of the screen. Click Stake.

  4. Select the network and specify the Amount to pay.

  5. If needed, set Custom fees. The custom fee is the gas fee required to execute this transaction. You can speed it up by setting a fee that is higher than the default one.

  6. Check Staking details and approve in the Qredo Signing App.

Important: The staked assets will be bonded. If you wish to send your assets, you have to unstake (unbond) them first.

Unstake

After you stake TIA, they are bonded. If you wish to transfer some or all staked assets out of your Celestia Wallet, you have to unstake (unbond) them first. Then you'll have to wait for the unbonding period of 21 days. Note that during the unbonding period assets don't earn rewards.

To unstake your assets:

  1. Navigate to the Celestia Wallet.

  2. In the Actions section, click Unstake.

  3. Specify the Amount to unstake and Custom fees if needed.

  4. Click Unstake Celestia and authorise the transaction in the Qredo Signing App.

Claim rewards

Once you stake TIA, they'll start accruing rewards. To claim them:

  1. Navigate to the Celestia Wallet.

  2. Find the Rewards section in the right part of the screen. Click Claim Rewards.

  3. In the next screen, set custom fees (optional) and click Claim Rewards.

  4. Approve in the Qredo Signing App.

You can always view your rewards in Rewards > Check your rewards.
