Web3 Wallet → MetaMask Institutional

This guide will help you connect your Web3 Wallet to MetaMask Institutional. Before continuing, make sure that you’ve created a Web3 Wallet with MetaMask Institutional as its Type.

We recommend using Google Chrome. It is critical not to have MetaMask Orange - Retail and MetaMask Blue - Institutional enabled simultaneously. Disable (not delete) MetaMask Orange - Retail before installing MetaMask Institutional. Should you wish to simultaneously use MetaMask Orange and MetaMask Blue, we recommend installing them on different browsers or using separate Google Chrome Profiles.

  1. Log in to your Qredo Profile, navigate to the upper-left corner of the screen, and select your Profile icon.

  2. Select a Workspace and open the Portfolio that the Web3 Wallet is located in.

  3. Navigate to the Web3 Wallet that you wish to connect to MetaMask Institutional.

  4. Click the wallet connection button near the top-right of the screen and then click Install MMI. Add the MetaMask Institutional extension to your browser.

  5. Follow the instructions from MetaMask Institutional to enable the extension.

Note: You'll be asked to create a new account. This will create a default address that is redundant and shouldn't be used since it is not governed by Qredo’s dMPC.

  6. Once you’re done enabling the extension, return to Qredo and hit Refresh (when the button appears).

  7. Once you’re back in the Web3 Wallet’s view, select the wallet connection button again.

  8. In the following window, click Launch MetaMask Institutional. A MetaMask Institutional extension window should pop up.

  9. Click Confirm to confirm Custodian Account and then select the account(s) you want to connect.

  10. After hitting Connect, select Close to close the extension window.

Note: When using MetaMask Institutional, you may see a notification stating that your account is not set up for use with the network you selected. In this case, you should add this network in the Qredo Web app as a custom RPC network.
